Conflict Resolution Society (CRS)
MINUTES CONFLICT RESOLUTION SOCIETY MEETING - FEBRUARY 8 2008 The Conflict Resolution Society met on February 8th at El Centro Community College. The meeting called to order by the Secretary, Loretta Moss at 10:15. Our participation in the Student Success & Club Day held in January was discussed. We had a very successful day and thought we generated lots of interest. Karen talked about having a membership drive, as it about that time again. We discussed raising the membership fee and will include a T-Shirt with membership. T-Shirts will be Navy Blue with white letters. Adam and Bridgette will talk to “Sammy” about getting them done. Bridgette gave us an update on the family that we sponsored at Christmas. The grandmother had been ill and the children were not with her at this time, but the grandmother was doing better. The children enjoyed the gifts and are doing fine. The Texas Association for Mediators will hold its annual conference in Galveston February 29th thru March 1st. Joseph Folger and Kenneth Cloke will be the speakers. Glenn mentioned the North Texas ADR Mini-Conference on Saturday, June 7. First 50 students can go for half-price - $50.00. Also Glenn needs 5 students to help with conference and they will get in free. We took a look at the updated By-Laws rough draft and are seeking input. Spring Fling is out. Bridgette said there will be a Job/Health Fair at the MLK Center on March 17th and would like to have a table set up there if possible. We started a discussion about having speakers for our meetings and the possibility of them receiving CEU credits for their time. The meeting was adjourned at 11:20. The next meeting of the C.R.S. will be March 1st at 10:00 in Room 274. The date of the meeting has been changed to March 22nd. The time is the same. Present were:
